You mean he didn't play "Roxanne" ?!?!?!?!

Alternate title 2 for this post: This is why I intensely dislike Sting
Alternate title 3 for this post: The King of Pretentiousness
Alternate title 4 for this post: That is the most ridiculous outfit I have ever seen

Sting plays "important" holiday music. Very PBS, indeed.

Sting is the only major concert I walked out of. He was playing his Police stuff extra slow. Then he told us he was taking an intermission in order to read, and told us the importance of reading (mind you, he was saying this to college students). At that point, I made the intermission permanent, went to see a local band, and gave away my copy of "Dream of the Blue Turtle." He annoys.

Ha, ha ! Yes, wonderful!

Peter: he does annoy, amen.

I am sure you read the link that you posted Greg. It has some really interesting things to say about Sting's new album, ie. the choice of music, etc. (his choice of atire aside).

Yeah, I read it. Blech. Pretension on top of pretension. Yuck. Very PBS. If I want "15th-century carols, songs from Purcell operas, and traditional English ballads" I don't want it coming from Sting.

By the way, his choice of attire sums up the entire exercise.

Greg,
I haven't heard the album, so I can't really say if I want those types of songs coming from Sting.

Would it be safe to say that you weren't a fan of Sting before this Christmas album?

I would have thought that Sting's modus operandi for choosing the songs on the album would have been slightly appealing.

Sting's choice of music wouldn't be so bad if he didn't make such a big deal about it. This is Sting, yet again, telling us how smart and sophisticated he is. Yuck. I'd much rather hear him sing, "Da doo doo doo, da,da,da,da, is is all I want to say to you." Once upon a time, he was actually fun.

If someone's going to add lyrics to a Bach cello sarabande, I don't think I want Sting doing it.
